The weather outside is frieghtful, but the fire is so . . .

It has been a cold couple of days. As predicted we got some of the winter storm that plagued most of the central US, but as I predicted we wouldn't get the 6-8 inches the weatherman said we would. A little disappointing but it is still pretty. This is a shot this morning from outside my office. I think there is around an inch or more of snow, however, the side roads have plenty of ice that kept the schools closed today. My knight in shining armour did bring me to work at 7:00 a.m. to keep me safe.

Too bad we didn't get a blizzard like I had hoped for. I love a good snow day and well I couldn't justify not coming to work. Here are a few other pictures from around the office. We have hundreds of squirrls here and this was one that was looking for something to eat this morning. I just had to get a picture of him because he was so cute. They aren't always so cute, don't be fooled they are mean little creatures when they want to be.

The trees looked like perfect Christmas trees and on the way to work Anthony and I both thought they had a certain flocking to them that was picturisque. I thought he would enjoy seeing a picture of one. He claims that his mother always had a flocked Christmas Tree - so this picture is for you.

Now for the knitting. I'm in over my head!!!! The baby blanket that I am determined to do and look cool and awesome is hard!!! I have size 13 Addi circular needles (that cost a small fortune at Handheld Knitting) holding these two skeins of yarn together and it is heavy and my left hand hurts. Yes, pass the cheese to go with that whine. I'm using some Hobby Lobby yarn "Yarn Bee" Airy in hot pink and lime. It really gives it a great effect just knitting 60 stitches back and forth. I don't think it is going to be a real big blanket, but it is thick and it would be great to use on trips, etc. I'm kinda impressed by how pretty the two colors look together.

In more productive news, I finished a scarf and gave it to a friend, Carol, at work. I like giving away handmade gifts, and I like receiving them. There is a certain homey charm and warmth to the gift that is personally made. I was on vacation during her birthday in Dec. so this was a late B-Day present. She is also an avid Razorback fan - football, basketball and baseball. This scarf was made with Hobby Lobby's "Yarn Bee" grotto. I think it is a cutie. Tonight it will be back to the blanket. Have a good Friday.
By the way, we all have those ugly green t-shirts on for our Boss. Today he is 60. I really don't think he is happy about it. Which makes it so much better. After today, this shirt will either be Son #1's new sleep shirt or a new dusting rag. Decisions Decisions.
